After you've added shapes to your document, spreadsheet, presentation, or email, make the shapes look exactly how you want.
Format shapes

Select the shapes you want to format.
Tip:Â To select more than one, press and hold the Shift key.

On the Shape Format tab, do any of the following:Â

Select
 Shape Fill to fill the selected shapes with a solid color, gradient, texture, or picture. -
Select
 Shape Outline to pick the color, width, or line style for your shape's border. -
Select
Shape Effects to give your shapes a shadow, reflection, or glow. -
Select a Shape Style from the gallery to apply a unique combination of colors, lines, and other effects that look great together. In PowerPoint​​​​​​​, select
 Quick Styles to see the gallery.Â

Change the colors in a text box or shape
After you've added shapes to your document, spreadsheet, presentation, or email, you can make the shapes look exactly how you want.
To begin, select the shapes you want to format.
To select more than one, press and hold the Shift key.
When you select one or more shapes, a new Drawing Tools tab appears.
Here, you can select Shape Fill to fill the selected shapes with a solid color, gradient, texture, or picture.
You can also select Shape Outline to pick the color, width, or line style for your shape's border.
You can even select Shape Effects to give your shapes a shadow, reflection, or glow.
But for extra polish and consistency, just apply a Shape Style.
Each Shape Style provides a unique combination of colors, lines, and other effects that look great together.
Hover over a Shape Style to see how it will look.
This Shape Style, for instance, has a nice transparency.
Select a Shape Style, and you're done.
